Friends Page

The Friends Page includes information on the Charles Clock family and early photographs taken in Redlands, California.

Several years ago I started a journey of discovering all the places my family -- early day motoring tourists -- had visited during the 1920s and 1930s.  The snapshots of their adventures fascinated and intrigued me.  I began a series of my own adventures beginning in 1996, following their tourist trail and searching out their footsteps, attempting, to the extent possible, to rephotograph the images in the family album.

The exploration of vintage photographs has been surprising and fun -- the source of treks across the Southwest with family and friends.  M9 year old mother is my most frequent and favorite companion.  Together we have journeyed down the back roads of the Four Corners region and Colorado Plateau, at times deviating from the tracks left behind seventy years ago and striking out on our own.

At the encouragement of those same friends and family who have so often made the journey with me, I have extended the adventure through this web site to those who share an interest in the Four Corners region (and beyond...) and unique photographs of a different era .  And some snapshots of my own!

I hope you find the information contained herein both informative and fun!  Please let me know what you think of the web site and feel free to contact me if you would like more information about Snapshot Expeditions.
